3. User Accounts & Responsibilities

Account Registration

• You are responsible for providing accurate and current registration information
• You must maintain the confidentiality of your password
• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account

Your Responsibilities

• You agree not to use false or misleading information
• You agree not to impersonate any person or entity
• You agree not to disclose your password to unauthorized parties
• You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• You are liable for all activities conducted through your account

4. Intellectual Property Rights

All course content, materials, and intellectual property belong to PetroBase or licensed creators. All videos, text, graphics, and interactive elements are protected by copyright. Instructors retain copyright to their original course content. You receive a license to view content for personal use only.

Restrictions on Intellectual Property

• No content may be copied, reproduced, or distributed without permission
• Downloading and sharing course materials outside the Platform is prohibited
• Recording lectures or taking screenshots for redistribution is prohibited
• Any violation may result in account termination and legal action

5. Course Enrollment & Policies

5.1 Enrollment

• Course enrollment is subject to availability and verification
• We reserve the right to reject enrollments that violate our policies
• Some courses may have prerequisites or requirement verification
• Enrollment confirmation will be provided via email

5.2 Course Access

• Access period depends on the course type (lifetime, fixed duration, subscription)

• Technical issues do not entitle you to credits or refunds

5.3 Certificates & Credentials

• Certificates are issued upon completion of course requirements

6. Payments & Refunds

6.1 Payment Terms

• All prices are in USD unless otherwise stated
• Prices are subject to change with notice
• All currency conversions are the responsibility of your financial institution
• Payment is processed securely through our payment provider

6.2 Refund Policy

• 30-day money-back guarantee for course refunds
• Refunds must be requested within 30 days of purchase
• Refunds are not available if more than 30% of course content has been accessed
• Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days
• No refunds for third-party course materials or software licenses

6.3 Subscription

• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
• Cancellations must be submitted before renewal date
• No refunds for unused subscription periods
• You can upgrade or downgrade plans at any time

7. Acceptable Use Policy

Prohibited Activities

• Harassment, bullying, or abusive language toward other users
• Posting spam, promotional content, or advertisements
• Sharing illegal, adult, or offensive content
• Attempting to hack, exploit, or damage the Platform
• Using bots, scripts, or automated tools to access the Platform

• Cheating, exam fraud, or plagiarism
• Sharing course credentials or accounts with others

Consequences

• First violation: Warning or temporary suspension
• Repeated violations: Account suspension (7-30 days)
• Severe violations: Permanent account termination
• Loss of all access, certificates, and enrollments upon termination
• Potential legal action for serious violations

8. User-Generated Content

Your Content

• You retain ownership of content you post (comments, forum posts, projects)
• By posting, you grant PetroBase a non-exclusive license to use your content
• We may display your work, achievements, or testimonials
• You are responsible for ensuring your content does not infringe on rights

Content Guidelines

• Content must be relevant to the course
• No personal information should be shared in public forums
• Respect intellectual property of others
• Follow academic integrity standards

9. Disclaimers & Limitations

As-Is Basis

• The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties
• We do not guarantee uptime, reliability, or accuracy
• Technical interruptions may occur for maintenance
• We do not warrant that the Platform will meet your specific needs

Limitation of Liability

• PetroBase shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages
• Maximum liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the course
• We are not liable for third-party content or services
• We are not liable for user-generated content or conduct

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PetroBase, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform, violation of these terms, or infringement of any rights. This includes legal fees and costs.

11. Third-Party Services & Links

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites and services. PetroBase does not endorse or assume responsibility for third-party content, privacy practices, or services. Your dealings with third parties are entirely at your own risk. We recommend reviewing their terms and privacy policies before using their services.

12. Termination

Termination by You

• You may terminate your account at any time through account settings
• Account deletion is permanent with no recovery option
• Course enrollments end upon termination

Termination by PetroBase

• We may terminate your account for policy violations
• We may terminate for non-payment (for subscription accounts)
• We may terminate without notice for severe violations
• Upon termination, all access rights are immediately revoked

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Texas for any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Platform.

14. Dispute Resolution

Process

• Informal resolution: Contact support@petrobase.com with your dispute
• Response time: We will respond within 10 business days
• Escalation: Unresolved disputes may go to arbitration
• Arbitration: Binding arbitration shall be conducted according to AAA rules
• No class action: You may not participate in class action suits

15. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Significant changes will be announced via email. Your continued use of the Platform after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We recommend reviewing these terms periodically.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full effect. The unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
